Title: Should Cleaning Be Based On Utilization?

Cost: Available to All Access Passes Only

Description:

Hybrid and remote work is here to stay. Many knowledge workers value being able to work from home 2-3 days a week and buildings are being occupied lower than pre-covid levels. Are buildings overcleaning areas that don’t need as much cleaning? Are they undercleaning when people come back into the office?

Can we focus our cleaning efforts more dynamically to the utilization of the building? At an airport, should we clean based on the hours or based on the traffic patterns of people who are walking through the terminal?

If we wanted to move to a utilization based model – how could we do that with the help of data and AI? Are companies fully utilizing existing data (parking data, tenant occupancy rates, badge data, IOT sensors)? We will go through potential data sources from easiest to most difficult to potentially leverage.

Finally, how should that data then affect in-house providers and BSC’s? Are there opportunities to improve cleaning quality by routing cleaners to the right place and the right time more efficiently? How do we make sure the economics make sense for all parties?
